I am not one to spend money on DVDs and CDs. I listen to the radio when I'm in the car and I tend to not want to take the time to watch a movie I've already seen. So, it is a rare occasion when I talk myself into wasting ten bucks on a CD. The last time I did this was in 2006 with Justin Timberlake's FutureSex LoveSounds. I had always had the policy that unless there are at least three songs released that I like off an album, it's not worth buying. I probably have maybe ten authentic CDs in my collection and most consist of Matchbox 20 and Jewel, lol.
But, I caved and I splurged. I had been thinking about it for a couple months and finally decided to go for it! Of course most people assumed that the CD that I would be was Lady Gaga, and indeed she has released many singles off her album, but there are a couple in there that I'm not too thrilled about. Sure, I'll listen to them if they're on the radio, but would I voluntarily choose them? Not so much.
No, the CD that I chose was Kings of Leon's " Only By the Night." I REALLY liked their three songs they have released so far and convinced myself to buy it. And so far, I'm glad I did! I think I'm to song number 8 and I have only skipped one. This CD was purchased much to my husband's dismay as he can not stand Kings of Leon, and doesn't understand their appeal. But this is coming from a guy that buys Lamb of God CDs, so I won't consider him the answer to the musical in-the-know.
Has anyone else purchased this CD or heard it? What do you think? Are you a big CD buyer?
