That's why I shared the chart, because I...Ari,

That's why I shared the chart, because I don't think most parents have a clue how much sleep their child should be getting. I can't seem to get my 4 year old to sleep for 11.5 hours a day, though, no matter how early I send her to bed. She wakes up at the crack of dawn.

When I had one kid naptime wasn't all that important, but once I had two, mommy needed a break to get hammered, lmao, j/k!hamsterkittenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05216300157534802197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5835320734736708175.post-64470752057461705862010-02-16T07:51:37.913-06:002010-02-16T07:51:37.913-06:0011 hours of sleep for a 5 year old?! Dude, I have...11 hours of sleep for a 5 year old?! Dude, I have a child in class that fall asleep a lot and when I mentioned it to the mom, she said she could never get to him to bed before 9pm, he just would not fall asleep. 9pm is like when *I* go to bed... that's like 8 or 9 hours of sleep that he's getting. And he's supposed to get 11 hours, and no nap.

I may need to show this chart to the parents.

Oh and yeah if your child is not a napper, I wouldn't force them. Maybe a little bit of quiet time, let's lay our head down and relax if she'll go for it, but not 2 hours of "you stay in your room and sleep damnit". Then again, I'm not a parent. When I am one, who knows what'll happen. "Go away, it's mommy's naptime!!"Arihttp://curiousillusion.comnoreply@blogger.com
