Blu ray Review: Moms' Night Out-- Available Now!

I first saw the trailer for this movie when I watched Heaven is for Real.  I thought it looked really
funny and I like Sarah Drew (Grey's Anatomy).  So, I was pretty stoked when I was offered a gratis copy for review!

Initially, I was a little thrown by the PG rating as often comedies these days are rated R or unrated rentals, because of constant swearing, vulgarity and/or nudity.  Not that those things appeal to me in making a movie funny, but seeing that something is PG rated makes you wonder how funny can it be?  Well, it WAS funny!

The acting was really well done, there is not one person that I could complain about.  Trace Adkins may have stolen the show as his character seemed so unlike him as a person.  I don't do country, but I saw him on Celebrity Apprentice and he didn't really come off as a comedian, but in MNO he plays a tattoo artist with a sensitive side.  It's really cute.

But I think the best part for me was how much I could relate to the main characters desperation to get time away from her children!  I cherish any chance I get for free time with no children in tow.  Being cooped up almost all day every day does tend to drive me (literally) insane.  And having conversations with other adults besides my husband is also something I crave.  One thing I did not identify with was her OCD about germs.  I'm pretty big on cleanliness, but not OCD about scrubbing down every inch of my house to the point of losing sleep over it.

Anyway, rent the movie.  I gave it a 7 on IMDB.  My husband says "it was okay."  It did kind of paint the husbands/dads as a bit inept, which could offend some guys (but let's be honest, it does apply to a good many dads!)
