Blu ray Review: Muppets Most Wanted

It's always fun being able to share classic characters with my kids that I enjoyed as a kid.  And when Disney chooses to revamp those things for the current generation, that's pretty sweet in my opinion... just waiting on that Rainbow Brite and Fraggle Rock upgrade, Disney...

My kids really like the Muppets movies and I like that they have cracks here and there that adults can enjoy, plus they get some pretty big names in their movies.  In Muppets Most Wanted, they brought in some big guns as well: Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell!

Here's the synopsis:
"Two Frogs! One Pig! Intrigue! Music! Mayhem! Muppets! There’s plenty of fun for the whole family as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and the entire Muppets gang head out on a world tour. But mayhem follows the Muppets, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper. Now Kermit is behind bars at the mercy of prison warden Nadya (Tina Fey), and the World’s Number One Criminal, Constantine—a dead ringer for Kermit—has taken his place.  As Constantine and his dastardly sidekick Dominic (Ricky Gervais) plot the robbery of the century, they are pursued by Sam Eagle and Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon (Ty Burrell)."

The lowdown from my point-of-view:  I received this movie gratis and watched it as a family.  My 2 year old wasn't interested for very long, but would come running in when he heard the music.  My 6 and 8 year olds watched it, but the 8 year old liked it better.  I thought it was pretty cute and did not feel like I was being tortured.  I don't know that any of us would watch it on a regular basis, but it's a nice one to pull out on a rainy day or loan to a friend.
