The Princess and the Frog Blu-Ray Review

I have been DYING to do this review!!! I went with a group to the theater to see this. It was my friend Sharlyne and her daughter, myself and my daughter, and my friend Michelle whom I set up on a blind date with a guy from work who had no idea what movie we were seeing. The kids dressed up like princesses and we sat down for something both my daughter and I had been excited about for like two years! (That's how long it seemed they were advertising it.)

This movie blew me away! It was so fantastic and is now third on my list of favorite Disney movies: first being The Little Mermaid and second being Finding Nemo. The story was fantastic, the music was catchy and the visuals were stunning.

The story is about Tiana, a regular girl whose dream in life is to own a restaurant. That's it. She's not looking for a man, romance of any of that girlie stuff! She's an entrepreneur! While she is catering for her friend Charlotte's party, she gets food knocked onto her and needs to change her dress. Charlotte lets Tiana borrow a dress and now Tiana looks like a princess. Enter Prince Naveen, who has been turned into a frog by the evil Dr. Facilier. Naveen must kiss a princess in order for the spell to be broken. Tiana is not interested until Naveen tells her that he will pay for her restaurant if she does it. Little does she know that Naveen has no money because his parents disinherited him. She kisses him and instead of him turning into a person, Tiana turns into a frog! Now they must try to escape from Dr. Facilier and make it to Mama Odie in hopes that they will be transformed back. They meet many interesting characters along the way.

My favorite character in the whole movie was Ray, the lightning bug. I laughed so many times during this movie. I cried once. I was very involved in this movie, lol. If you don't watch this movie, you're missing out on a chance to recapture your youth and have a little fun!!

Family Time Factor: Well, I personally believe it can be enjoyed by any age. There's one part that could be considered scary, but my 4 year old didn't seem to mind it.

MOTR Grade: A+
