Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian DVD Review

Kids seem to eat these Night at the Museum movies up. They're silly, fun and quasi educational. And Ben Stiller is great! In this sequel, Larry Daley is back as a former night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, where the exhibits come to life after dark. But now Larry’s nocturnal friends are being retired to the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, luring him back for a hilarious, all-out battle against a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh who plans to take over the museum... and the world! This movie also stars Amy Adams (Enchanted), Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Ricky Gervais (“The Office”), Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) and Jonah Hill (Super Bad). Clearly with a great mix like this, you'll get what you expect: lots of laughs!

I think this was a little above my kids' age because unless there's singing, if it's not a cartoon they won't sit through the whole movie. My daughter did, laugh, though. Well, I laughed, too and definitely found it to be more than tolerable, but not one that I would watch voluntarily again.

Family Time Factor: Great family night movie, but best enjoyed by kids of 6.

MOTR Grade: B-

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray!!!
