One of Nickelodeon's breakout hits has been iCarly. It stars Miranda Cosgrove (School of Rock cutie, Drake & Josh regular) as Carly, a girl who becomes a quasi celebrity in Seattle after broadcasting a webshow starring herself and her friend Sam. Carly's friend Freddie is the technology guy for their show.
Carly lives with her older brother Spencer and he is her legal guardian. This leads to the possibility of much more shenanigans and hijinks than when you're under parental supervision.
Each episode has Carly living out her regular life, without letting her fame get to her head. She is an intelligent and honest girl, which makes her a good character for young children to watch.
Another great element of iCarly is the fact that it is very now and current because Carly's show is on the internet. Kids will appreciate that it's not the same old boring storylines that could be transposed into any given decade.
This is the first volume to be released for season two and it features eleven episodes on two discs. It includes the "iGo to Japan" TV Movie, making of, behind the scenes and other fun extras!
Family Time Factor: This is not really something older teens would probably enjoy. It's more of a tween thing or perhaps a bit younger. Parents can appreciate it's good plots and appropriate content, but isn't likely to be enjoyed as an entire family venture.
MOTR Grade: B-
iCarly Season 2, Volume 1 is available now!!!

I'm partial to the one about God losing his teeth. It was cute and innocent. I just don't want to hear about students whining about their grades or about another cheating spouse.
ReplyDeleteTypical Male Answer to cheating
ReplyDeleteThe typical male question about cheating answer was interesting. I am assuming it was dripping with sarcasm?

Being truthful I am not a fan of the miss advice blog. But if i had to pick I would say the "Six year old boy" kinda think its wrong to miss direct kids on this question. I am sure its all for kicks and giggles though. :)

ReplyDeleteIlike the Jaded student post cause it gave some good advice.
ReplyDeleteerma.hurtt@sbcglobal.net
I liked the Suspicious Eater post the most because I have always wondered what hot dogs were made out of.
ReplyDeleteI like Six Year Old Boy - Six year old boy asks: Where do babies come from? Funny stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe first advise was interesting. I always advise people that when they are too busy worrying about how others are being treated, they are missing out on their own life.
ReplyDeleteThank you
