From authors Sara Au and Peter L. Stavinoha, Ph.D. comes a new, modern approach to potty training your child!
Having potty trained my daughter when she was 2, I am anxiously awaiting the time when my son (18 months) will be ready for potty training. When it was time to PT my daughter, I did a lot of googling and asked people for advice until I came up with something that would work for me.
But, I hated having to hear the older generation say things like, "oh, my kids were potty trained by 18 months" or "I would never let a child get to the age of 2 and not be potty trained!" It was ridiculous.
That's what I love about this book. It is about finding the right approach for YOUR child. The authors understand that children are all different and that what works for one kid won't always work for the next. Brilliant! Finally people who understand that they don't need to shove something down your throat and say "this is EXACTLY how you do it."
What this book offers is advice and tips on how to tell if your child is even ready to be potty trained, what to do when things aren't working and various approaches to potty training based on your child's temperament.
It is definitely worth the read if you are thinking about or in the process of potty training. It is a good read with great insight that was written by parents. It will also assure you that you are not doing anything wrong.
