Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories: Book Giveaway

I am a huge advocate for reading! I think it should begin when your children are young and that books help kids grow into intelligent, creative and imaginative people! Plus, I think that adults reading is also extremely important.

That's why I think it is awesome that Cheerios (who we all know promotes healthy bodies) promotes healthy minds as well! Over the past seven years, Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories has given away more than 35 million children's books by distributing them free inside cereal boxes and has donated nearly $3 million to First Book, their non-profit partner, which provides books to children from low-income families.

In addition to encouraging children to read, Cheerios is looking for anyone interested in writing children's books. Now in its third year, the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories New Author Contest is a way to encourage previously unpublished, up-and-coming children's book authors and to continue to nurture a love of reading. Entries are being accepted March 16 through July 15, 2009 and will be judged on appropriate story and content for children ages 3-8, emotional connection, writing quality, uniqueness, and read-aloud potential. More details on the contest can be found at www.spoonfulsofstoriescontest.com.

GIVEAWAY DETAILS:

Cheerios is giving away a set of children's books to one lucky winner! I received a set and read them all to my daughter. She loved them and they will now be a staple in our book collection! They are extremely creative and fun and encourage imaginative thinking.

Contest is open only to US residents and ends at noon May 5.

To enter:

1) Tell me one of your favorite children's books from your childhood.

2) Tweet or digg this post or provide a link on your own blog/facebook/etc.

3) Subscribe to my newsletter.

Good luck!

  6. I really enjoyed the American Girl historical books, in fact, I still have them (I have almost all of them) and I love to sit down and think about the memories I have had with the books and each character.
