  2. Hmm I agree with some of his points on the movie, but I have to admit I didn't like the movie that much! (I hope nobody shoots me for saying that!) Haha. I don't know, a lot of it seemed to rushed for me and didn't capture some scenes I really liked in the book, even though I'm a super Twilight saga fan! But I really want to win this DVD, despite the fact that it could have done better! I want to have a Twilight party ;)

  4. I'm dropping by from the Book Room Reviews site. As I said there, I enjoyed the movie more than the reviewer seemed to think I should being that I'm not part of the target audience (in my 40s). Of course, I usually enjoy the books more for the sole reason that the characters can be explored more in-depth within the pages of a book as opposed to the shorter time-frame you have in a movie.

  5. I have not seen the movie but the review did make me want to (like I didn’t already) I didn’t know that Twilight’s main following is women and that they make up 75% of movie theater audiences, so I learned that.

  7. I have read the movie but have not seen the movie. I think the review sounds close to the book, with the exception of Jacob going to the same school as it implies. But the love story interest sounds like the movie stayed close to the book. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

  11. For the most part I agree with the review. It was even-handed and unbiased, which I appreciate. In fact, the only thing I would change about it would be to clean up the spelling and grammar, since I found a few major errors (ommited words, wrong words, etc.). And I'd also make a detail change: Jacob does not go to their school. Other than that, I think it can stand as it is and be fair, which most reviews weren't.

  25. I agree with the review, I loved the movie and thought Edward played his part wonderful! One of the best first kisses i've ever seen! I thought Bella could have had a softer personality and not so intense and lost acting but i still enjoyed her part also, i enjoyed Edwards family wish i could've seen more of them they had neat personalities, maybe in the next movie. Thanks for these awesome contest yall have offered us!

  27. I agreed with everything the review had to say it was excellent! This one line in the review says it all "Women get their forbidden and innocent love story while there is kind of a nice 'superhero' element that men appreciate with Edward's protective mentality toward Bella."

  30. I really agree with the author that you have to connect with your inner 'teen girl' to really get into the movie. Otherwise, I think the Bella - Edward relationship just seems really obsessive.

  35. I pretty much agree with that review. I thought the movie was a little cheesy, but I liked the story. I've been assured the book is better and adds to it. I have them all on my shelf now, but haven't had a chance to start reading!

  45. I think the review on Movie Review has been done with good moderation and appropriateness. And I quite like the one comment to the review at the end and its response from the reviewer.

Because I am such a huge fan of the books, I agree with the review rating as some things could have been done differently but surely you cannot capture everything thats in the book to appear on the screen.

I wasn’t as excited to go watch the movie because I was afraid it might be a bad representation as is done with some other books made into a movie, but it grows on you. I did think that some of the cinematography could have been better too. I am so thrilled for this opportunity!!! I really hope to win

    Thank you!

  48. I for the most part agreed with the review except I have found that the aqge demographics are older than 30. After visiting many of the Twilight based forums I am not the only 40 something year old to love the Twilight series LOL.

I also thought some of the makeup was a little over the top but overall loved the movie. Not as much as the book but still loved it.

    Thanks!

  50. I haven't seen the movie (and only got thru the first book). I'll probably rent it sometime, just for the special effects, but don't hold out much hope that the movie improves on the book. His description of the demographic audience is about my assessment and it hasn't included me since I was maybe 12.

  51. Hello again! I read that review and would have to say they hit it head-on. Most fans of the movie are lovers of the book, and they did a fairly good job translating it from book to movie, though the book is better, in my opinion.

  54. I most certainly did not agree with much of what was written. Then again, I don't agree with much of Twilight as a movie. I was a Twilight fan from the very beginning and am proud to still be one but, between the over dramatic acting and 2nd rate editing and filming techniques I feel like twilight was really just jipped out of what could have been a GREAT film.

I do however find myself relishing in it's trashy plot line. It's like a really good cat fight you shouldn't watch yet it's so enticing.

I wrote an entire write up of the review on my own blog

I read the series and while I appreciate Stephanie Meyers as a writer I wish she had the insight to fight for the film Twilight could have--better yet, should have, been. The movie unintentionally plays out as a parody to the book. And, that's venomous.

The review sounded accurate to what I have seen and heard from my friends and family members that I have talked to about the movie. I guess if I win the DVD, I can judge for myself! Thanks so much for such a wonderful giveaway!
